Amateur Radio Emergency Service

EYEWARN

Coos County EYEWARN

There are nearly 600 amateur radio operators in Coos County. Less than 100 are members of Coos County Radio Club. Some are ARES/RACES Members. Any Ham Radio operator can help us by being “Boots on the Ground” reporting on damage, injury and outages in an emergency.

EYEWARN is a group of volunteers that train to aid with disaster communication services over amateur radio.

All licensed HAMS are Welcome to join the weekly EYEWARN VHF Net held weekly Tuesday evenings 1800hrs local time on the Beaver Hill repeater.

The group uses simplex 146.580MHz, for practice and the default meeting frequency if the repeater is down.

More information is available upon request.
